Transnet is working with stakeholders to implement contingency plans for its port and rail operations ahead of the planned national shutdown on Monday.
Transnet said in a statement on Friday that it was working on contingency plans where necessary, to ensure business continuity in light of the planned protest action.
“The plans will take into consideration operational demands and available capacity. Transnet’s priority remains to ensure the safety of its operations and employees, as well as customers and stakeholders accessing Transnet facilities,” Transnet said.
The parastatal said it would continuously monitor the situation and adjust its contingency plans accordingly.
