ALAN PEAT THERE IS a controversy brewing in the clearing and forwarding training sector, with a private company taking over the quality management rating in the industry from its former home as part of the Transport Education and Training Authority (Teta), according to Henri Fisher, MD of Skills Development Specialists (SDS). “This,” she told FTW, “is an issue that we and other accredited training providers are facing and one that is cause for concern. “As Teta-accredited training providers, the quality management systems of SDS were audited by the Education and Training Quality Authority (ETQA) on a regular basis. However, this year we were advised that a training provider has been appointed to conduct this audit.” So, in April, SDS raised an objection with Teta that this is a conflict of interest. “To date we are awaiting the outcome of our concerns,” Fisher added.
