CARGOCARE HAS differentiated its airfreight consolidation service to provide a three-tier option based on urgency. For customers in a hurry, there’s the direct flight with no transfer – so the customer doesn’t wait for the consolidation. On Cargocare’s express service, consolidations go out every two to three days up to three times a week while economy consols go out once a week from all main centres worldwide. “The choice depends on the urgency of the shipment,” says MD Roland Raath. “We stress the importance of our express system if the shipment is going out during the peak September to December period,” he said. Despite climbing fuel surcharges, Raath has found: “Customers can be understanding if they get the facts and if we communicate with them.”
