In the case of the freight industry, the Transport Education and Training Authority (Teta) did not escape untouched (see page 6). The AG listed its faults as being: • Action plans developed that did not address internal control deficiencies in relation to performance management; • Financial statements not adequately reviewed for accuracy. • An investigation was conducted by an independent consulting firm on request of the entity. The investigation was initiated based on allegations made in awarding of a tender through a closed bidding process instead of a competitive bidding process. An investigation is now being undertaken by the Public Protector.
