Tech company helps plug the skills gap

Namibian company Forte
Inventory Solutions has
teamed up with Namibian and
South African training institutions
in order to help raise the skills
levels within the country.
“We are supporting one of the
four pillars of the 2030 vision
to transform Namibia into an
international logistics hub for the
SADC, which is to reduce the skills
gap,” says Renko Bergh, operations
director of Forte Inventory
Solutions.
Training is helping to improve
efficiencies and productivity
through a combination of “people,
processes and systems,” he says.
“Employees are able to use
logistics systems and tools
much better if they have a solid
grounding in the theory behind
supply chain management,” he
says.
“Our role is to facilitate the
training,” he says.
