THE disciplinary enquiry into allegations of mismanagement against suspended Cape Town Airports Company chief Hennie Taljaard has been postponed once again.
Acting Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) m.d.Justin Williamson told FTW the enquiry into
allegations of
mismanagement by the high-profile Taljaard had got underway in Cape Town last week but been postponed 'for business reasons' until January 29.
ACSA originally told this publication that a senior in-house human resources official would chair the enquiry but Williamson, quizzed on this aspect, said it was being presided over by a 'totally independent labour expert'.
He hoped the
proceedings would not be protracted much beyond the new
start-up date but that Taljaard's legal
representative - whom he was at a loss to name - would then have time to make representations.
Williamson, pressed on the nature of the allegations, denied that the close-to-the-chest enquiry against Taljaard by Cape Town auditors KPMG related in any way to the costly upgrade of Cape Town International Airport, specifically with regard to the awarding of
contracts aimed at transforming the airport into a truly world-class facility.
