James Hall MBABANE- Swaziland’s Muslim community has condemned the United States and Britain’s war against Saddam Hussein in a strongly worded statement. “Both the USA and the British will never succeed. They have rejected the United Nations proposal to disarm Iraq peacefully. These ‘bully’ nations are showing utter disregard for human suffering and trauma that will result from bombing human habitation and civil populations,” said the statement released by the Ezulwini Islamic Centre. Calling the conflict a second wave of imperialism and colonialism, Swaziland’s Muslims declared, “America needs Iraq’s oil reserves and strategic placement in the Middle East. The excuse of the ridding of a dictator and chemical weapons of mass destruction is lame indeed.”
