Steel handling specialist

SA STEVEDORES in Saldanha Bay recently took delivery of a new Kalmar DCE medium capacity forklift, the first port in southern Africa to operate the machine which is capable of lifting 18 000kg.
The new electronically controlled gearbox allows for precise and gentle lifting operations at all speeds.
The machine, the fifth Kalmar to be purchased by the company, will be used for the handling of steel products manufactured by Saldanha Steel. A boom attachment for steel coils has also been fitted.
