GOVERNMENT commitment to the automotive industry remains unwavering, Mzwakhe Mbatha, deputy director of the trade and industry department, said in Port Elizabeth recently. Support measures will remain in place via the Motor Industry Development Plan (MIDP), he added, confirming that the MIDP review process, which started about 18 months ago, had been completed and was awaiting final approval of Trade and Industry Minister Mandisi Mpahlwa.
