ENSURING PAPERWORK is in order for
perishable meat products is essential to
avoid time and cost delays, and experienced
shippers know the regulations to follow for
smooth passage.
“We are currently handling meat
products, all inbound in refrigerated
containers. We clear them in Durban,
get the product through the state vets,
ensure all paperwork is processed and get
all documents to the relevant parties,”
said Aubrey Veeran, director of Sebenza
Forwarding & Shipping in Durban.
The company is headquartered in
Johannesburg, with offices in Pretoria and all
major SA ports – Cape Town, Port Elizabeth,
East London. A staff of 160 handles the
clearing and forwarding for all manner of
shipping. Veeran recently handled a bottle
project for a brewery that required an
armada of 2500 containers and is currently
handling large loads of capital equipment.
Shippers of perishables are
accommodated with attention to whatever
their needs might be. Sebenza agents are
on hand at dockside to see that all goes
smoothly, so shipments can be cleared and
they depart the port within three days.
