'Solutions don't need to be costly'

In Africa when it comes to project logistics innovation goes a long way. According to Marinda Grobler, trade lane manager – Africa for Micor Super Group, out-of-the-box solutions are part and parcel of working on the continent. It was just such innovation that was required when the company had to unload container trucks at a remote site in Bolgatanga in Ghana recently where an energy project to electrify the rural areas of the country is under way. “Using a very simple method the truck was parked, jacks inserted and the container hoisted into the air. Hanging suspended in the air the truck was then simply driven out from under it before the container was jacked to the ground.” This proves that solutions do not have to be conventional, costly or complex, she said.
