Africa’s move towards solar energy will be high on the agenda at the upcoming Africa Energy Indaba (AEI) to be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on March 3-4 .
According to the organisers, many African nations have already employed solar energy to tackle climate change.
The AEI’s Thembisa Bambathi said that extensive research had proved that no other energy source, including hydro and wind, was as sustainable, reliable, and efficient as solar.
Attended by ministers and decision-makers, the AEI is intended to provide an agenda that influences energy policy for Africa. “The event serves as the ideal platform for achieving Africa's vision for a sustainable energy future and keeping abreast of global energy competitors in this dynamic landscape. It will address key issues impacting the African energy sector, ” said Bambathi.
