DSD’s three directors Ð Colin Doyle, Lynn Waterford-Doyle and Mark Hampton . . . training a logical development. SPECIALISED TRAINING programmes to back up software solutions are becoming increasingly necessary, and are not always available through conventional training facilities. For that reason DSD Freight Training and Consulting Services is now offering a full range of courses to the freight industry. “We’ve been a software specialist since 1992,” says director Colin Doyle, “but since the beginning of this year we have found more and more of our clients calling on us to train their staff. This is especially the case when software has to be updated. “This has encouraged us to venture into the training field, and we have now developed niche areas after deciding at what levels we must pitch our own training sessions.” Along with co-director Mark Hampton, Doyle believes that with the depth of import/export expertise in the company it was a natural step to move into training. In addition to long established clients, DSD is also finding strong interest from black empowerment companies. DSD’s course range includes clearing and forwarding; freight costing and management; payment methods, problems and risk management; marine insurance assessment, claims and management; general import/ export troubleshooting; and import/export cost cutting and consulting.
