Schedule reliability has recorded a sharp 7.4% month-on-month (m-o-m) improvement towards the end of the first half of 2025, Sea Intelligence (SI) says in its latest Global Liner Performance report.
Currently, schedule reliability is at 65.8% of SI’s measured liner trade, “the highest figure recorded since November 2023”.
The maritime analysis platform adds that it “continues the trend of consistent m-o-m improvements since February this year”.
“On a year-on-year level, schedule reliability was up 10.0%. Maersk was the most reliable top-13 carrier with schedule reliability of 75.9%, followed by Hapag-Lloyd with 72.5%.”
The Maersk-HL reliability trend has been ongoing since the two lines entered into a vessel-sharing arrangement (VSA) following the termination of the 2M alliance that the Danish line had with its former Swiss VSA partner, Mediterranean Shipping Company.
“The next six carriers were in the 60%-70% range, and the remaining carriers were in the 55%-60% range,” SI adds.
Ocean Network Express fared worst of all with schedule reliability of 55.1% for May, SI reports.
