THE PORT of Saldanha has come up trumps in the safety and environment stakes. It took home first prize in the National Occupational Safety Organisation (NOSA) Award in Cape Town recently, which recognises the quality of the Port’s environmental, health and safety systems. The NOSA Safety Management System is a tool used to audit environment and safety standards in companies “The purpose of the NOSA competition is to identify and reward the winner of regional, national and international companies within the Sector Industrial Category (SIC) categories,” Theuns Kruger, NOSA project manager in South Africa told FTW.
