Safcor flexes supply chain muscle

SAFCOR PANALPINA is forging ahead with the development of its full supply chain offering. Having operated in the traditional customs clearing and international forwarding sectors for more than 90 years, the extended service offering will include supply chain management and consultancy, system integration, customs clearing, forwarding, logistics and financial services. Says Dieter Rothman, regional director, Eastern Cape: “The Eastern Cape region will institute an aggressive training programme in conjunction with the rest of Safcor Panalpina in upskilling staff on supply chain management services. We acknowledge that we are on a path to full supply chain and the training and development of supply chain skills is critical to offering a differentiated product. “Certain key logistics services have been outsourced to Rennies Distribution Services (RDS) both in East London and Port Elizabeth. RDS is a specialist warehousing and distribution operation and is a sister company of Safcor Panalpina within the Bidfreight Division of The Bidvest Group Limited.
