Details of office rationalisation still to be decided

SAA LOOKS certain to switch its US Atlanta stop to Washington at the end of this year. There has been no decision on its New York flights.
That’s the word from SAA Cargo area sales manager Jacinth Chetty who added that details of rationalisation of the airline’s sales offices and GSAs in the US and other parts of the world still needed to be ironed out.
“It’s early days yet, but it all depends on what is formally accepted by SAA’s Star Alliance partners,” he says.
“We have our own cargo sales staff in all our major destinations, but the new agreement is likely to affect others in smaller centres who do not comply with the alliance requirements. There may, in fact, even be destination changes in other parts of the world to which we will adjust.
“Right now, however, everything on the passenger side will have to be worked out before we can start looking at cargo.”
