SENIOR GENERAL manager operations at Manica Group Namibia, Hartmut Heitmann, died suddenly in Windhoek last week.
His death deals a severe blow to the Namibian freight industry and it will be a major task to replace him, said managing director Thomas Templin.
Heitmann has served the group in various capacities during the past 28 years. He was in charge of Ship’s Agents and Fish Exporters (SAFE) as well as the company’s air cargo division.
He collapsed after suffering an aneurysm while on duty towards the end of last month and was flown in a coma to Windhoek where he died a fortnight later.
“He was dedicated to his work, and was highly respected in the industry in this country,” said Templin.
