SAA expands in Africa

South African Airways (SAA) last week launched flights from Johannesburg to Kigali in Rwanda and onwards to Bujumbura in Burundi. The return flights will operate from Bujumbura to Kigali and onwards to Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International airport. “SAA is focused on strengthening its intra-Africa network in line with its Africa expansion strategy,” says Theunis Potgieter, SAA general manager commercial. An A319 aircraft will be deployed on the route. The latest developments are part of the airline’s ongoing bid to extend its African footprint.
