SAA adds routes in Africa

Senegal and Ethiopia to be served SOUTH AFRICAN Airways will add a new West Africa option on January 7, 2003 when it adds a stop-over in Dakar, Senegal en route to New York. The airline will continue to fly to New York via Ilha do Sol five times a week, but will touch down at Dakar on Tuesday and Sunday, which will provide a direct freight service to West African markets. The same will apply on return trips, with SAA stopping at Dakar on Monday and Wednesday on the New York-Johannesburg schedule. On other days Ilha do Sol will be the stop-over. SAA will also launch a new service to Ethiopia next month. From October 27 the airline will fly directly to Addis Ababa twice weekly, on Wednesday and Sunday, with the return trip on Monday and Thursday.
