SA records another trade deficit

SOUTH AFRICA’s trade account recorded another, albeit slightly smaller, deficit in April – narrowing to R2.417-billion from R2.87-bn in March, according to the latest figures from Statistics SA, Exports decreased by 11.5% month-on-month (m/m) to R26.513-bn in April from R29.95-bn in March, while imports declined by 11.9% m/m to R28.930-bn from R32.8-bn.
