South Africa is expected to recover from the recession by the second quarter of this year, governor of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), Lesetja Kganyago, said at the central bank’s annual general meeting today (Friday).
"We believe that the worst is behind us – and that growth in the second quarter of this year will be positive," he said.
SARB forecasts that the economy will grow by 0.5% this year, rising to 1.5% over the next two years.
