South African companies
should be doing more to
take advantage of the additional
capacity that is available to
transport goods into the rest of
Africa, says Hilton Tait, chief
executive officer of FT Global
Logistics.
While the logistics sector is
investing in the continent to
support trade, the challenge is
getting South Africans to go and
market their products in Africa,
says Tait.
“All too often we see South
Africans waiting for buyers to
come and place orders.
“Hopefully the exporters will
spend money and invest resources
in trying to develop or re-develop
these markets north of the
Limpopo.”
South African
companies
should be doing
more.
