THE PROCESSES, amendments and inclusions in the National Bargaining Council For The Road Freight Industry (NBCRFI) collective agreements after settlement of the annual wage negotiations in March are expected to be promulgated and gazetted at the end of June.
Once promulgated they will then become effective and binding on employers and employees.
The Memorandum of Agreement is presently with the Minister of Labour awaiting promulgation. It was entered into by the Road Freight Employers Association (RFEA) and five representative unions.
The unions are Africa Miners and Allied Workers Union, Motor Transport Workers Union, Professional Transport Workers Union, South African Transport and Allied Workers Union and the Transport and Allied Workers Union.
Full details of the agreement can be accessed on www.cargoinfo.co.za in the roadfreight section.
