The Richards Bay Coal Terminal recorded a 5.7% rise in coal exports for 2015, surpassing its 75-million tonne target by 400 000 tonnes.

About 59% of exports went to Asia (mostly India), with shipments to the region declining 7%; Europe received 19% of the exports, 6% less than a year earlier; and 14% went to Africa, 7% more than the previous year.
