Anna Cox FINDING THE right seal for the right application is clearly the mission at Truseal whose wide range is designed to suit the industry’s varied needs. A combined keyless padlock and indicative seal, designed for applications requiring strength as well as quick, easy removal, was recently launched. TruLock is made of a robust reusable plastic body, together with a steel hasp. The seal is easily closed by inserting a plastic seal in place, making TruLock tamper evident. Secure audit trail “For a secure audit trail, the seal can be customised and produced with a sequential serial number or barcoded,” says Tony Cramer, general manager of associate company Truco (Transvaal Rubber Company). The lock, which has been designed, developed and patented in South Africa, is suited to a wide variety of applications from airway freight containers and cold room storage, to flight catering trolleys and cash boxes. Another option is the new Griptight seal which is specially manufactured from two separate materials - an inner and outer which makes it even more resistant to tampering, he added. Manufactured with a rugged nylon outer lining and an acetyl insert, it provides added strength and durability for the seal to resist the effects of boiling and freezing temperatures. It is designed with a breaking strength of around 36 kg and is also immune to the effects of glue. The pull-tight seal has a tamper proof locking action, with a special moulded customer logo and consecutive numbering - both aiding easy identification and tracking of seals and assets. Typical applications include trailers, cash bags, containers, air and rail freight. Griptight seal . . . even more tamper-resistant. Trulock . . . designed, developed and patented in SA.
