PROFESSOR LEON Raath has been elected national president of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, South Africa (CILTSA). He is the general manager - logistics at Transnet corporate centre. Barlow Manilal, logistics manager at the Automotive Industry Development Centre, has been elected chairperson of the marketing and development committee while Dennis Setshedi will head up the membership committee. He is the deputy manager: transport planning at the City of Tshwane. John Maluleke, a company director at Khuthele Projects, will chair the professional development committee. CILT is an international professional body with over 30 000 members around the globe. Last year it established an independent section in South Africa.
