Qatar Airways confirms launch of SA service

QATAR AIRWAYS has confirmed the launch of a Doha - Johannesburg service from January 2005 (FTW May 21, 2005). CEO Akbar Al Baker told delegates at a recent Arabian Travel market in Dubai that the airline was planning to add 20 destinations by 2005. These will include Islamabad, Istanbul, Osaka and Teheran. According to FTW’s sister publication TNW, Qatar Airways will serve Johannesburg four times a week starting on January 15, using Airbus A330 aircraft.
