LEONARD NEILL KEVIN WAKEFORD dropped a bombshell last week when he confirmed he had resigned as chief executive of the Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC). It was another episode in the ongoing saga of the embattled organisation. But Wakeford’s resignation has been ‘put on hold’ by fiery Eastern Cape provincial premier Nosimo Balindlela, who summoned Wakeford to her Stutterheim home last Thursday night after learning of his decision, and called on him to stay on in the job.
