The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced that the Port of Mombasa will begin clearing goods up to seven days before vessels arrive, with effect this month. This is in in a bid to increase the port’s efficiency.

“It will support the region’s political commitment to integration which has so far achieved a reduction in transit time and reduced cost of transport and importing through Mombasa,” KRA commissioner general John Njiraini was quoted by Kenyan newspaper, The Star, as saying.
