Terry Hutson VOYAGE COMPLETED and looking hardly the worse for wear! That’s the conclusion to the saga of the Pongola going aground in the entrance channel to Beira on July 5 and blocking the port to all shipping for one week. Last Thursday (July 22) the 7 959-gt Ocean Africa Container Lines ship sailed into Durban harbour under her own power and looking hardly the worse for wear but with an urgent appointment at the ship repair yards and in particular, the Eldock floating dock, for a full assessment of possible damage. In the meantime, while Pongola is out of commission, Ocean Africa has chartered the UAFL Express to help maintain the East Coast service schedule.
