Piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia decreases

The number of incidents from November 2014 to November 2015.

Piracy incidents in Asia dropped by 53% in November compared to October this year.

According to a report published by the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP) Information Sharing Centre (ISC), a total of seven incidents of armed robbery against ships was reported in November 2015 compared to 15 incidents in October. Of the seven incidents reported in November, six were actual incidents, one was an attempted incident and no piracy incidents were reported.
