I refer to the article headlined “KMIA gets international status” (Airfreight Express April 11, 2002). The photograph of the LH 747F above the story on the new KMIA airport is misleading. According to people who work at KMIA no Boeing 747s have been seen there. I do believe that restrictions exist whereby a full B747F is unlikely to be able to fly out of KMIA non-stop to Europe. Whilst KMIA possibly does have international status at this time, the Customs and Immigration staff are still based at the old Nelspruit Airport over 20kms away. Cargo handler
