Packing specialist finds increasing global demand

THIS SHIPMENT was manufactured in Cape Town and destined for Iran, but packaging specialist Cape Crating is finding increasing demand for its services from companies that are not necessarily based in Cape Town, says co-owner Owen Bottomley. The company packed and crated the cargo – four crates totalling approximately 270 cubic metres – while SACD secured the crates to the flatracks. Non Cape Town-based traffic is clearly on the up. “This year we completed a 3-week packing job in Mauritius. We also pack project cargo in Johannesburg on a fairly regular basis,” says Bottomley. “And since the Mauritius job we now have a team with passports at the ready that can be deployed anywhere.”
