Kenya’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA)  in Nairobi is now fully operational following the outbreak of a fire in the baggage hall on Wednesday.

The fire is said to have been caused by a conveyor belt at the baggage hall in Terminal 1C, but the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) said this had been quickly addressed

“All passengers and staff in Terminal 1C were safely evacuated and the situation contained by the Airport’s Fire Response Team. No injuries were reported during the incident,” read a statement from the authority.

Certain flights were briefly disrupted but, according to a tweet by KAA, “all flights and operations are back to normal”.
