The Nigerian senate has urged the Federal Government to urgently reactivate rail lines at Apapa ports for evacuation of petroleum products as there has been recurring traffic gridlocked along the Oshodi-Apapa express-way, reports Nigerian newspaper Vanguard.
In addition the senate urged Lagos state government to collaborate with federal government agencies to end the present gridlock, noting that long-term plans and expansion of the Apapa-Ijora-Iganmu-Orile-Mile 2 access trunks and the Apapa Tin Can-Mile 2 -Oshodi corridor should be considered.
Federal government should step in and address the problem in the best interests of the economy, said Lagos State government.
