New York flights begin to recover after blizzard

Air transport on the US East Coast – after one of the worst blizzards on record saw thousands of flights cancelled throughout the region – has begun to recover, according to the US press.

More than 3 900 flights were cancelled on Sunday, with 900 off the Monday flight schedule, according to aviation website FlightAware.

But, in the New York area, JFK, Newark Liberty and LaGuardia airports were open by yesterday, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
