New vehicle assembly plant opens in Mozambique

Somyoung Motors, a new factory assembling Hyundai vehicles, was inaugurated in the southern city of Matola on Friday, according to a report by Club of Mozambique.
The factory was built with funding of US$5.45 million from Mozambican and South Korean investors and has the capacity to assemble 4 500 vehicles a year, but in this take-off phase it will produce just five a day.

It is currently assembling the Hyundai i10 completely built up (CBU) model and will produce a variety of vehicles, including electric scooters, buses and four-wheel drives.
