Trailer manufacturing company, Martin Trailer Company, has introduced new 4-axle RGN 55 removable gooseneck trailers, most of which are custom-designed according to client specifications. “The new trailers can be used for abnormal machinery loads, including excavators, articulated dump trucks and bulldozers,” said managing director Patrick Gore. He added that the company’s trailers typically featured a higher payload and lower tare weight than competitor units. He noted that Teichman Plant Hire, an earth moving equipment provider, had recently taken delivery of a new RGN55 4-axle trailer together with an HD 50 single-axle dolly. Gore said that Teichmann had historically used folding gooseneck trailers. “Teichmann listed precise specifications for their trailer, including the need to take the unit cross-border and having to comply with the height and payload stipulations in southern and central Africa where the trailer will be operated,” commented Gore. Logistics manager for Teichman, Sean Devine, pointed out that Martin Trailer Company’s experience, and the fact that it has a facility for servicing and repairing equipment, was the deciding factor in ordering the unit from the company. “Added to this, the aftersales department offers an on-the-road service and repair team that can be dispatched for any urgent requirement,” said Brett Nicolay, group plant manager for Teichmann.
