Rolls Royce will provide technical training to South African Airways Technical (SAAT) staff to enable them to conduct work on the company’s engines held at its newly opened and first engine storage facility in Africa.
According to SAA, SAAT mechanics will, in time, be capable of performing a range of inspection and on-wing services to Rolls Royce customers on the continent.
The facility, based at the SAAT site at OR Tambo International Airport, was opened yesterday and is capable of storing the full range of engine types to meet the requirements of airline and business jet customers based or operating in Africa.
