In response to market demand, members of the G6 Alliance have added an additional Halifax call to its AZX (Asia Suez Express) service on the Asia–North America (East Coast) trade.

This move is expected to improve transit times from Canada to Asian and Mediterranean ports as well as from Asian and Mediterranean ports to New York.

The G6 Alliance members are: APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL).
