The logistics industry lit up the dance floor during the Shipwreckers Disco Party at the vibrant Jozi Gin in Johannesburg on May 29.

It was a night to remember when industry professionals from all sectors came together to celebrate, reconnect and give back.

In a powerful display of unity, R75 000 was raised – a collective contribution from the shipping and logistics community towards selected charities: the National Sea Rescue Institute, Baby Moses Children’s Sanctuary and the Johannesburg Children’s Home.

A post-event statement said: “This wasn’t just a party; it was a purpose-driven celebration.

“Old colleagues reunited, new friendships were formed and future business partnerships were born. The night brought together professionals across air, sea, road, rail and warehousing – all dancing in one space, free from titles and competition.

“Leading the celebration were companies like AGL, Metalline, Reload Logistics, WWLS, Reddy Ship, DSV, Ceva Logistics, Diamond Shipping, City Deep Tradeport, SACD, PIL, Evergreen, Grindrod and many more.”

With the Johannesburg edition wrapped, the organisers of Shipwreckers are focusing on Durban for the next charity gathering.

The next Shipwreckers will be at the end of October 2025.

“If Joburg rocked the boat, Durban is expected to bring the waves.

“So, bring the energy, the unity the rhythm and let’s see if you can rock the boat harder than Jozi did.”

Let’s see if Durban can dance louder, connect deeper and give bigger.

One industry. One night. One unforgettable cause.
