New logistics company opens its doors

JULY 1 saw the launch of Vector Logistics, a new player in the third party (3PL) logistics field focusing on the food and related industries within Southern Africa. Part of the Anglovaal Industries (AVI) Group, it was previously known as the Customer Division (a division of I&J). The objective of the company is to provide a one-stop, everything-you-need 3PL through strategic partnerships, says managing director David Hood. "We have already implemented plans to provide fully-fledged contract distribution within the next three to five years. We aim to provide customers with central distribution centres whereby we will be able to pull all the stock requirements within their food processing disciplines and distribute from one central point in a single delivery," he said.
