New forwarder specialises in Far East and South America

JOY ORLEK THERE’S A new name on the local freight forwarding scene, specialising in trade between southern Africa and China, the Far East and east coast of South America. And it’s a company whose senior management represents years of experience in the shipping trades to and from these regions. Headed up by managing director Mark Shih, who is based in Durban, and general manager John Lau, based in Johannesburg, Concord Shipping specialises in the movement of full and LCL (less than container load) cargo on the Asian and South American routes. “We also have the connections to provide customs clearance and warehousing in addition to transportation services,” says Lau who sees a lucrative niche for a specialist operator in this growing market.
