A new Far East service is to be offered by the Taiwanese shipping line, Evergreen, from next month. It told FTW that the service was to cover the Far East-Durban-Mozambique sector. This will be a direct weekly run offered through slots on the MOL’s Mozambique Zuid Africa (MZX - 43353) service, run with five ships of 1 800-2 500-TEU capacity. A call at Tanjung Pelepas (the Evergreen hub) is to be added. The MZX will then connect Tanjung Pelepas and Singapore to Port Louis, Durban, Maputo and Toamasina (although the last port will not be advertised by Evergreen). The first Evergreen sailing is planned from Tanjung Pelepas on August 12.
