Just 5kms from Durban Container Terminal

SECURING A Transport Emergency Card (tremcard) in Durban has just become a lot easier thanks to the establishment of a Durban office by dangerous goods specialist EC Logistics.
Situated in Victoria Embankment and opened this month, the facility is just five kilometres from the Durban Container Terminal.
EC Logistics is one of only three operators in South Africa licensed to issue the card and MD Eddie Crane believes the Durban facility makes good practical sense.
“It’s mandatory for a tremcard to be carried in the cab of any vehicle carrying dangerous goods by road,” says Crane.
“It contains instructions and information to which the driver can refer in the event of an incident involving hazardous loads and gives recommendations on what actions should be taken in the case of an incident.”
Apart from the dangerous practical implications, failure to carry a tremcard will result in the goods being detained.
The Durban branch of EC Logistics, headed up by Cindy Crane, offers the full range of dangerous goods services from consulting and seminars to all the legally required placarding for hauliers. Full details are available on the website at www.eclogistics.co.za
