THE ROAD toll levied on trucks from January 1 will have a major impact on the cost of moving air cargo in Germany, according to Lufthansa Cargo.
It will be severely felt, said the cargo carrier, and “will appreciably increase” its cost of operating trucking services to and from German airports.
And the effect will have to be passed on in certain cases, the airline announced.
From January 15, Lufthansa Cargo is adapting its pricing structure on shipments through all but the central German airports – and increasing the mark-up on shipments by 0.02 euros per kilo of chargeable freight weight.
