Nederburg has plenty to crow about

RAY SMUTS THERE’S A whole lot of crowing going on at Paarl and it has nothing to do with cocksure roosters as Nederburg cellarmaster Razvan Macici and his team celebrate winning five medals at this year’s International Wine and Spirits Competition in London. Standing tall, the recipient of one of only eight gold medals awarded South African wines, was the estate’s 2002 vintage Edelkeur, the famous nectar-like wine originally launched in 1975 and described by wine fundi John Platter as the “Grande dame of SA botrytis desserts.”
