Namibia’s plans to improve infrastructure continue

The Namibia Roads Authority (NRA) last week signed contracts with several local and international companies for the construction and expansion of roads across the country. The total cost of the contracts amounts to an estimated R2 billion, according to news reports.

The most notable contract - valued at R799 million - was awarded to China Railway Seventh Group and Onamagongwa Trading Enterprises. The project includes upgrading the main road that connects Windhoek to the country’s largest airport, Hosea Kutako International, reports daily online publication the Southern Times.

This project will commerce in January 2016 and is scheduled to be completed within 36 months.
