MSC to sail solo on Far East route

JOY ORLEK FROM MARCH next year Mediterranean Shipping Company will terminate its membership of the Safari Service as well as its own Capricorn Service and launch a new weekly option linking South Africa and the Far East. The new ‘Cheetah Service’, as it will be known, will deploy 1500 TEU capacity vessels. Port names and rotation will be announced at a later stage. The Safari Service is a partnership between MSC, Maersk and Safmarine. Details of its future plans were unavailable when this issue went to press on Monday morning.
